Agenda:
Each day your child is expected to come to school with his/her agenda. Each evening
please initial your child's agenda and reading calendar. Signing your child's
agenda and/or any notes in the agenda helps us to know that you are informed and
aware of what is going on in the classroom.
Reading Calendar:
Each student is REQUIRED to read 20 minutes a night for a minimum of 20 nights a
month. This is assigned each evening for homework. This is also a NNPS
requirement and a graded category on your child's report card. In order to
monitor this, we ask that you initial your child's reading calendar nightly.
Homework:
Your child is assigned homework each evening. Please provide your child a quiet
environment to complete these assignments each evening. If your child happens
to forget his/her agenda please provide mystery homework. This can be as simple
as 10 or so math problems on a paper, a summary of a story read that evening,
etc. Please then have your child turn in this mystery assignment the following
day.
Snacks and Treats:
In accordance with NNPS we politely ask that if you want
to send in a treat to the class that it meets the healthy snack guidelines. The
specifics for these guidelines are available in the main office.
